Last year, I realized that this 5 foot fence was not going to be high enough to support the runner beans. To increase the height, but still be able to pick the beans without a ladder, I created these extenders.

The idea worked like a charm, however I did add a piece of wood at each 45⠁corner to brace the trellis better. I also added string for the beans to climb on.
